First Stage of Global Champions Arabians Tour Closes In Extraordinary Style

Championship day of the first ever Global Champions Arabians Tour was the definition of respecting beauty with integrity and filled with excitement as the first points were handed out to the best of the best purebred Arabian horses. Held at the state-of-the-art Katara International Arabian Horse Festival the first event of the brand new Championship series which offers the highest prize money ever in the sport was one to remember. 

Connecting people and cultures all over the world, the kick-off event for the 2024 season saw a sold out crowd as Global Partner Qatar Airways presented the trophies and prizes to each winning combination to a standing ovation.   

Faleh Al-Nasr, Chairman of the Global Champions Arabians Tour spoke of the first event saying: “This inaugural event has not only showcased the extraordinary talents of Arabian horses but has also laid the foundation for a legacy that will elevate the status of equestrian excellence in the region. The Global Champions Arabians Tour embodies our commitment to promoting horsemanship, cultural exchange, and the spirit of competition at its finest.” 

Vice Chairman of Global Champions Arabians Tour, Jan Tops added: “Tonight, under the vibrant Doha skies, we witnessed the birth of a new equestrian legacy in the heart of Qatar. The inaugural Global Champions Arabians Tour has left an indelible mark, uniting handlers, studs, horses, and fans in a celebration of excellence. As we close this spectacular chapter and honor our champions, we look forward to the continued journey of grace, skill, and sportsmanship that defines the Global Champions experience.”

After just one event the overall Championship classification with the total prize money of over €4 million is a level playing field for the top Female horse and top Male horses. With just one placing each, all eyes will be on Abu Dhabi where the games begin and the allocated points come into play for the overall Championship race.  

The overall Championship classification for the handlers will be calculated overnight and be live tomorrow so stay tuned to see who will be heading into Abu Dhabi as the championship leader.
