Doha Raises the Bar with a Show-Stopping Championship

Doha, Qatar – 7 February 2026

The Doha stage of the Global Champions Arabians Tour has just concluded, marking another highly successful chapter in the 2026 season. The event, held under the patronage of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, delivered an electric atmosphere from start to finish, with a packed venue, enthusiastic spectators and a strong international presence. Competition levels were exceptionally high across all championships, showcasing the quality, refinement and performance that define the Tour. Katara once again proved to be a vibrant and prestigious setting, with GCAT Doha combining sport, culture and hospitality to create a memorable experience for owners, breeders, handlers and guests alike.

With a packed grandstand and a world-class lineup of over 220 competitors, the show concluded with a spectacular closing ceremony. Gold Senior Stallion Champion D Shahhar, owned by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, was crowned following a breathtaking display featuring a powerful performance, along with a dazzling fireworks show and an innovative 2000-strong drone display, which lit up the Doha skyline, reflected in the glistening water of the Arabian Gulf Sea.

Championship Results — Doha

Yearling Fillies Championship:

Gold was awarded to Shalwa Al Adwan, representing Qatar’s Al Jumail Stud. Silver honours went to Malikah Al Arab of Al Hleetan Qatar Stud, while bronze was secured by Afkham Dalal for Afkham Stud.

Yearling Colts Championship:

The colts division saw gold claimed by D Yamaan for Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, impressing the judges with presence, movement and overall quality. Silver went to Dinar Al Shaqab, followed by bronze for E.S. Ghanem, representing Amarah Stables.

Junior Fillies Championship:

Delivering one of the standout performances of the event, gold was presented to D Rowa of the United Arab Emirates. Silver was awarded to Expectations Al Wajba, while AJ Sajeel completed the podium with bronze for Ajman Stud.

Junior Colts Championship:

A highly competitive championship saw Aesar Al Wajba rise to secure gold for Qatar’s Al Wajba Stud. Silver honours were awarded to Al Thamer Stud’s Arad Al Sayed, with bronze going to D Mazyoon of Dubai Arabian Horse Stud.

Senior Mare Championship:

Elegance and maturity defined the senior mare division, where gold was earned by D Dharyah for Al Mirqab Farm. Silver went to D Judi for Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, UAE, and bronze to D Beisan representing Al Shaqab, Qatar.

Senior Stallion Championship:

The event concluded with a thrilling finale as D Shahhar claimed the gold Senior Stallion title for Dubai Arabian Horse Stud. Silver was awarded to E.S. Harir for SK Arabians, while bronze went to RDS Armani, completing the championship podium for Akmal Stud. 

 

 Setting the Tone for the Season Ahead

With Abu Dhabi and Doha setting a powerful tone for the season, the Tour now makes a defining move across the Atlantic to the United States for the debut show of the Americas series. The upcoming stage in Scottsdale marks a significant moment in the 2026 calendar, expanding the Tour’s footprint and connecting the Middle East’s rich Arabian horse heritage with one of the most important Arabian horse communities in the USA. 

As for the Europe and Middle East series, the Tour’s next stop is in Muscat, Oman, from 5-7 March.
